Avg/day counts every day in the week, including days off. The current week only counts days so far.
Major scale
Pattern: W W H W W W H (W = whole step, H = half step). From C that's all white keys.
Reading a key signature
Order of sharps: F C G D A E B
Order of flats: B E A D G C F (sharps reversed)
Sharp keys: last sharp + a half step = the key. F♯ C♯ G♯ → A major.
Flat keys: second-last flat = the key. B♭ E♭ A♭ → E♭ major. One flat is F major (memorise).
Minor keys
Every minor key shares a key signature with a major key, its "relative major".
Go down 3 half steps from the major to find it: C → A minor, G → E minor, F → D minor.
There are three versions of minor. Music mixes them freely:
Natural minor: just the key signature. A minor = A B C D E F G, all white keys.
Harmonic minor: raise the 7th note. A minor gets G♯. This is the accidental you'll notice most often.
Melodic minor: going up, raise the 6th and 7th (F♯ G♯ in A minor). Coming down, use natural minor.
How to tell major from minor by sight: the key signature is the same, so look at
(1) the first and last bass note, and (2) the raised 7th. A piece with no sharps or flats that
keeps showing G♯ and ends on A is in A minor.
